Welcome to Mrs. Delacour’s Kindergarten Class
COVID Our staff will be working hard to keep our building clean. We ask that if your child is not feeling well to please keep them home. We will practice hand washing and good hygiene practices while at school. Everyone is required to wear a mask at school. I will have masks breaks throughout the day. Each child has a lanyard to hold their mask while eating and having breaks. These lanyards will remain at school. Lunch The school serves a hot lunch daily. Make sure your child has money in their account. Breakfast Your child may purchase breakfast daily. Please inform me if you do not want your child eating breakfast at school. *No breakfast if there is a 2 hour delay. Snack The school will provide a daily snack for your child. You may purchase milk for your child from the cafeteria. They must have money in their lunch account to purchase milk. Arrival The school will be open at 7:45 for students. Our day begins promptly at 8:20. Transportation Walkers leave at 2:50 Bus riders will board the bus at 3:00. Pick-up will be at the front of the building after the buses leave. Please be patient with us! Schedule 7:50-8:20 students arrive in the classroom. 8:20-10:40 Language Arts: reading, phonics, spelling. 10:40-11:10 Lunch 11:10-12:00 writer’s workshop 12:00-12:40 Specials 12:40-1:15 Recess 1:15-1:30 snack 1:30-2:40 Math 2:45 dismissal Special person calendar Each child rotates through the calendar to be the “special person” of the day. This gives each child the opportunity to be our line leader and overall helper of the day! I will also have the fine arts schedule listed. The calendar will be in your child’s folder. . Specials Our special schedule is on a four day rotation. I have it on our monthly calendar. Art: please send an art shirt to school. Ex. Old t-shirt Gym: wear comfy clothes and sneakers Music: bring your singing voice Library: books may be checked out later in the year Reading Reading to children, with children, and by children is one of the key building blocks to developing successful readers.
